hoverboardToday the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission issued recall notices for the following self balancing scooters also known as hoverboards sold by the following companies:

Keenford

Razor

Overstock.com

This is due to the fact that the products can ignite due to a faulty design and or manufacturing defects in lithium ion batteries used to charge the devices. Our office recently underwent the process of deconstructing and researching the design and configuration of the hoverboard shown here.

These products appear to be inherently dangerous in many respects, however, the current concern over exploding lithium ion batteries is a major hazard not only for the users, most often children, but for anyone living or staying in the area of the product.

If you have been injured as a result of the use of a hoverboard we may be able to assist you in making a financial recovery. The hazards of some lithium ion batteries continue to mount and we are also seeing people get burned and seriously injured in other products such as e-cigarettes. Definitely do not attempt to modify any product containing a lithium ion battery. Be safe.
